Marta Pacheco-Franco is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of English at the University of Málaga. After graduating in English Studies (2017), she became an intern at the University of Guelph (2018), Canada, and later obtained two Master’s degrees: first on Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (2019) and then on English Studies and Multilingual Communication (2020). Her dissertation, titled Spelling Variation across Time: A Study on Colour-, Theatre– and Licence-type Words, combines her research interests: namely, Historical linguistics and World Englishes, with a particular inclination towards orthographic variation.

Teaching

Marta Pacheco-Franco currently teaches Advanced Syntax at undergraduate level to students pursuing their joint Degree on English Studies and Primary Education. Previously, she has taught Upper-Intermediate English as well as Beginner and Intermediate Spanish, the latter during her internship at the University of Guelph, Canada (2018-2019).
