Marta Pacheco-Franco has just completed her PhD viva with a dissertation titled Spelling Variation across Time and Space: A Study on Colour-, Theatre– and Licence-type Words.

Javier Calle-Martín and Francisco Pineda-Castillo visited, with some other members of the Department of English, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University and the University of San Agustín at Iloilo in The Philippines under the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Program «Calesa», where they delivered two conferences entitled «Varieties of English Worldwide: Philippines English in the Context of Asian Englishes» and «A Multimodal Approach to Second Language Acquisition».

Javier Calle-Martín and Marta Pacheco-Franco have recently been teaching an educational workshop titled «World Englishes, with a side of ‘fries’ or ‘chips’?» to high school students as part of the programme in La Noche Europea de los Investigadores.
