Juan Lorente-Sánchez

Juan Lorente-Sánchez is a junior lecturer of the Department of English, French and German Philology at the University of Málaga. He graduated in English Studies in 2016 and later obtained two Master’s degrees at the same university: the first in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (2017), and the second in English Studies, Multilingual and Intercultural Communication (2018). His PhD dissertation, completed in 2022, deals with the edition, corpus compilation and philological study of Glasgow University Library, MS Ferguson 7. He has also collaborated in the compilation and POS-tagging of the Early Modern English and Late Modern English components of the so-called Málaga Corpus of Early English Scientific Prose. His research interests include manuscript studies, corpus linguistics and historical linguistics, with a particular interest in orthographic and punctuation variation.

Teaching

Juan Lorente-Sánchez specialises in English Phonetics and Phonology, teaching them at undergraduate level to students belonging to the Degree in English Studies. He has also taught English Language, several courses on English applied to International Tourism, as well as some modules at the Faculty of Education focused on pre-school and primary education.
